What it does
Beat Panner is Sound Particles' tempo-synced panning sequencer: it moves a sound around the stereo field or an immersive speaker layout in time with the track. The developer pitches it at electronic producers, DJs, film composers and engineers who want "total rhythmic control over where your sound lives in space."
- Step sequencer: up to 32 steps per channel, synced to the DAW tempo, setting where the sound sits on each step.
- Multipattern: four switchable patterns in one instance, so the movement can change between sections without drawing automation.
- Movement shaping: glide, micromotion and randomness controls set how the sound travels between positions.
- Organic variation: float and divergence controls keep the repeats from sounding mechanical.
- works in stereo and in immersive multichannel layouts.
- Views and mixer: 3D and room visualization of the movement, plus a built-in mixer for levels across channels.
- Presets: factory presets and a preset randomizer for quick ideas.
The current version is 1.1.0.

When to use it
Beat Panner earns its price when rhythmic movement has to travel around a surround or Atmos layout, not just left and right. Compared with Cableguys PanCake and ShaperBox 3, which handle tempo-synced stereo panning for much less, it adds immersive output, a 3D view and separate step sequences per channel. Unlike static imagers such as Ozone Imager or Polyverse Wider, it does not widen a sound; it moves it in time. Its switchable patterns also make it quicker than drawing pan automation by hand in the DAW.
- Best for: rhythmic movement of drums, arps, pads and FX in Atmos, surround and binaural mixes, and in stereo when you want more control than a basic auto-panner.
- Genres: electronic and dance music, and cinematic scoring.
- Look elsewhere if: you only mix in stereo and want something cheap (PanCake or ShaperBox 3), or you need static width rather than movement (Ozone Imager).
- Tip: Rekkerd suggests it for adding subtle life to pads, vocals and percussion; switch patterns between sections instead of automating the pan.
What producers say
Early press is positive about the workflow; the main complaint is the price.
- Rekkerd called it a rhythm-driven spatial tool "that actually respects your time and your workflow", praising the intuitive interface with deep programming, the humanizing float and divergence controls and the quick pattern switching.
- Criticisms: Rekkerd's only listed drawback was the price, though it noted few tools offer the same functions.
