What it does
proximity:EQ+ changes how close or far a recorded source sounds by editing its room sound, using frequency-selective dereverberation.
- Proximity slider: pulls the sound closer or pushes it further away.
- Room control: separates direct from indirect sound and can isolate and remove room modes.
- Blind mode: for adjusting by ear.
When to use it
A niche fix-it tool for putting a distant recording up front, or a dry close-mic take further back in the room, without adding reverb. It sits between a dereverb and an EQ. Unlike smart:reverb 2, which adds and places reverb, it works by removing it.
- Best for: dialogue, vocals, acoustic instruments recorded in untreated rooms.
