What it does
X-Orcism II: Voices from the Crypt is a free SSL plugin: a "Halloween-themed voice changer" for sound design, game audio, podcasts and experimental music production.
- Echoes and Crypt Size: layered delay-based whispers and space.
- Howl: an automatable noise generator for rises and falls.
- Tombverb, Ghoul and Wail: reverb plus two pitch-shift controls for unsettling tones.
- Interface: resizable GUI from 50% to 200%, contextual help and cross-DAW preset management with producer presets.
- Accessibility: full screen reader support, keyboard navigation, metering readouts and direct value entry.
It is free.

When to use it
X-Orcism II is a free creative voice effect rather than a precise vocal tool. Soundtoys Little AlterBoy and Antares Throat offer more controlled pitch and formant work, and iZotope VocalSynth 2 is a far deeper vocal-effects suite. Grab X-Orcism II for quick eerie vocals and textures at no cost.
- Best for: monster and ghost voices, game and film sound design, and dark textures on synths or guitars.
- Genres: cinematic, ambient, experimental and electronic.
- Look elsewhere if: you need natural-sounding pitch or formant correction.
- Standout: free, with accessibility features uncommon in creative plugins.
