What it does

TSAR-1 is Softube's true-stereo algorithmic reverb, built around five main controls.

Main controls: Predelay, Time, Density, Tone and High Cut.
More detail: early reflection type (Large, Medium or Small) and mix, Diffusion and Modulation, with an interactive display for toggling parameters.
Presets: 41 presets split into "modern" and "vintage" categories.
Also included: the simpler TSAR-1R version.

When to use it

A straightforward, general-purpose algorithmic reverb for vocals, drums and mixes, with few enough controls to dial in quickly. It is not a modulated-shimmer or convolution tool like Valhalla VintageVerb's colourful modes or Altiverb. Choose TSAR-1R instead if you want just a Time slider, or TSAR-1 if you also want density, tone and early reflection control.
