What it does
A virtual Eurorack modular synthesizer developed with Doepfer, and also usable as an effects processor.
- Modules: seven officially licensed, component-modelled Doepfer modules, and more than 50 utility modules such as mixers, multipliers, sequencers and performance panels.
- Presets: 156 presets, expandable to over 500.
- Patching: virtual patch cords, unlimited module duplication, and a high internal sample rate so feedback patches work.
- Effects: external audio can be processed (Modular FX), and Softube effects such as Saturation Knob, Tube Delay, the TSAR reverbs and Spring Reverb appear as modules.
- Add-ons: licensed modules from Buchla, 4ms, Intellijel, Doepfer and Mutable Instruments are sold separately.
When to use it
Choose this to patch a modular rig without buying hardware. It is the most open-ended synth in Softube's line, and unlike a fixed-architecture synth such as Diva or Serum 2 you build every signal path yourself. Best for sound design, generative patches, evolving textures and learning modular synthesis. Expect a learning curve, and extra cost if you add the premium modules.
