by Softube · Saturation · Console preamp drive
Not rated yet
A drive plugin from Softube's British Class A line that emulates the saturation of a British console channel driven at high input levels.
Best for: Drums, Vocals, Guitars. Genres: all genres.
Keywords: British console, hardware emulation, mixing, drums, dark, electric guitar, single-band, standalone app, vocals.
What it does
The drive section of the British Class A strip as a separate plugin: it emulates a British console channel driven hard.
- Sound: saturation and distortion from "dark and stormy to blue skies", per Softube, with control over mid-range and high-frequency behaviour.
- works standalone, in Console 1, Flow Mixing Suite and Amp Room.
When to use it
A budget-friendly console saturator for adding grit and weight to drums, guitars and busses. It is simpler than a multi-mode saturator like Decapitator in the rated list.
