What it does
Blaze Works Amplification puts "a 5150-inspired amp and a modern British boutique amp" in one high-gain package, with a matching 4x12 cabinet. Softube says the pair covers clean, crunch and roaring high-gain sounds.
- Blaze Works Overvolt II: a single-channel amp inspired by the 5150, described as a workhorse that goes from crunchy rock to metal with its Gain knob.
- Blaze Works Arc Line IV: inspired by modern British boutique high-gain amps, with three channels (Clean, Normal and Boost) on a selector switch.
- Depth control: on the Arc Line IV, it adds low end and fullness.
- German Viper 4x12 cabinet: loaded with Celestion G12M-25 Greenback speakers, voiced for sweet mids and a rich low end.
- Where it runs: on its own as a plugin, or inside Softube's Flow Mixing Suite, Amp Room or Amplifiers.
Softube's manual does not list every knob on either amp. The sources do not mention a trial.
When to use it
Blaze Works Amplification is good value if you want two distinct high-gain heads, a 5150-style amp and a British boutique design, for the price of one Softube amp. Compared with Archetype: Nolly X or Archetype: Gojira X, it has no built-in pedal board or effects chain, but it costs far less and can sit inside Amp Room with Softube's pedals. Unlike the American Mainstayer, which is a single two-channel 90s American head, it gives you two amps with four channels between them, from clean to boosted lead. Against AmpliTube 5 MAX or Guitar Rig 7 Pro it is narrow in scope, aimed only at high-gain players.
- Best for: modern metal rhythm on the Overvolt II and tighter boosted leads or cleans on the Arc Line IV.
- Genres: metal, metalcore, djent and hard rock.
- Look elsewhere if: you want effects, pedals and many cabinets in one plugin; a Neural DSP Archetype or AmpliTube 5 MAX is more complete.
