Keywords: chorus, hardware emulation, wide, classic, subtle, vintage, vocals, synths, 70s, electric guitar, keys, mixing, spacious, warm.

What it does

The SD-D Chorus page describes an emulation of a classic 1979 chorus unit that turns mono signals into wide stereo with depth and movement, without heavy pitch modulation.

Two versions: SD-D Chorus, a hardware-accurate recreation with the original's warmth, and Custom D Chorus, an expanded version with more parameter control.

When to use it

Use the SD-D for subtle widening and shimmer on synths, guitars, electric piano and vocals, rather than obvious warbling chorus. It is less hands-on than Arturia's Chorus JUN-6, which is in the rated list.

Suits pop, synth-pop and ambient production.

Where to buy

Slate Digital: $99 (Only sold in Chorus D Bundle ($99); also in Complete Access $19.99/month or $199.99/year)
