What it does
MetaTune is Slate Digital's automatic pitch corrector, covering clean correction through to extreme effects, with tools aimed at stacked vocals.
- Correction controls: Speed (including Negative Speed for extreme effects), Amount, and a Sustain control that adapts to note length.
- Note Stabilizer: stops the correction fluttering between notes.
- HeatMaps: show where notes land and how they're being adjusted.
- Groups: link several instances so stacked vocals can be adjusted together.
- Doubler: a built-in widening and thickening effect.
It's perpetual, or included in Slate Digital's Complete Access subscription.

When to use it
MetaTune sits between Waves Tune Real-Time and Auto-Tune Pro 11: an automatic, low-latency tuner with a modern interface and features for vocal stacks, but no graphical editor or harmony generator. Sound On Sound rated its vibrato handling highly. Slate subscribers already have it.
- Best for: tracking and mixing stacked pop and rap vocals, quick hard-tune, and keeping several vocal layers consistent.
- Genres: hip-hop, trap, pop and R&B.
- Look elsewhere if: you need manual note editing (Melodyne 5, RePitch 2) or harmonies (Auto-Tune Pro 11, Waves Harmony).
- Tip: the Note Stabilizer adds a lot of latency (around 280 ms per SOS), so switch it on for mixing rather than tracking.
What producers say
Well received, especially for how natural it sounds.
- Sound On Sound (John Walden, 2021): "I can't think of a better real-time pitch-corrector"; praised the vibrato handling, the Sustain control, the Doubler and Groups.
- Gripes: very strong, wide vibrato can still trip it up, a limitation SOS put down to real-time tuning in general.
