What it does
Infinity EQ 2 is Slate's parametric EQ with dynamic filters that compress or expand when the signal crosses a threshold, so the curve adapts to the material.
- Dynamic filters: each band has Frequency, Offset Gain, Target Gain and Threshold controls, plus a Time control for scaling the timing.
- New in version 2: Notch, Tilt and Bandpass filter types, and two timing modes: Tight (reactive, suited to de-essing) and Smooth (slower release).
- Stereo: Left/Right and Mid/Side processing, with output metering that can isolate each channel.
- Workflow: band grouping, an A/B toggle and a redesigned interface with lower CPU use. Slate says the filter shapes are analog-matched with no distortion up to Nyquist.

When to use it
A dynamic-band EQ for taming harshness, de-essing and level-dependent tone control without adding a separate multiband compressor. It sits closer to a mixing EQ with dynamics than to a full dynamic EQ like Waves F6 or a surgical tool like FabFilter Pro-Q 4.
Suits vocals, drum buses and full mixes in any genre.
