Virtual Mix Rack drum gate that triggers on transient detection and adds dynamic filtering to reduce bleed between drum mics.

Best for: Drums. Genres: all genres.

Keywords: drums, dynamic, downward expansion, single-band.

What it does

Gate: Drums is a drum gate that triggers on transients instead of level.

Transient Detection: responds to sharp and soft transients and separates the attack from the tail.
Gate: processes those parts independently, with detection filters, threshold and release controls.
Debleed: dynamic filtering to reduce bleed between drum mics.

When to use it

Useful for multi-mic drum kits with bleed from cymbals or neighbouring drums, where a simple level gate would misfire. Best on kicks, snares and toms.
