What it does
FG-A is modelled on what Slate calls one of the industry's most coveted discrete equalisers.
- Bands: four in total. The original was three-band; Slate doubled the mid band.
- Sound: proportional-Q curves and the saturation of discrete op-amps and transformers.
- Nonlinear switch: toggles between coloured and surgical behaviour.
- Adjustment: continuous frequency and gain via a modifier key.
- Availability: exclusive to VMR Essentials (perpetual) or Complete Access.

When to use it
A console-style EQ for adding fat, warm tone to tracks and buses. It is coloured by design, unlike a clean parametric such as FabFilter Pro-Q 4.
