What it does
Custom Series EQ is a hybrid equaliser that borrows from more than a dozen classic analog EQs.
- Each band draws on a different vintage design, with its own boost/cut behaviour.
- Analog-modelled output sections add harmonic colour.
- Slate says it is aimed at adding presence without harshness, cutting mud without losing clarity and adding low end without bloat.
- Sold in the Custom Series bundle with Custom Series Lift.

When to use it
Rather than emulating one console or Pultec-style unit, it mixes bands from several, which makes it a flexible general-purpose colour EQ. For a single specific vintage sound, a dedicated emulation such as the Pultec collection from Universal Audio is more direct. Suits any source in a mix.
Where to buy
- Slate Digital: $99 (Only sold in Custom Series Bundle ($99); also in Complete Access $19.99/month or $199.99/year)
