What it does
Utopia is a mastering plugin from Sixth Sample built around "a unique parallel dynamics and saturation process, tuned by hand". The developer says it was made with a professional mastering engineer, and it aims to make masters loud and clean with few controls.
- Three bands: independent linear-phase bands, each with its own parallel dynamics and saturation and a blend control.
- Hand-tuned processing: the dynamics and saturation settings are pre-tuned for each band and frequency combination, rather than exposed as many separate parameters.
- Loudness matching: the parallel paths are level-matched, and input normalization keeps results consistent from track to track.
- Output clipping: two tuned clipping curves at the end of the chain to catch peaks.
- Band tools: solo and bypass for each band.
- Metering: a spectrum analyzer and an oscilloscope.
- Quality and look: up to 4x oversampling, plus 10 themes and custom theming.
KVR lists version 1.0.0. The pages read do not mention a demo.

When to use it
Utopia is a simple, low-cost loudness chain for producers who master their own tracks and want a finished sound without building it from separate tools. Compared with Ozone 12, it has no EQ, stereo imaging or mastering assistant; it does three-band parallel dynamics, saturation and clipping and leaves the rest to you. Unlike Pro-L 2, its listed metering is a spectrum analyzer and oscilloscope, with no loudness or true-peak metering mentioned, so you may want a separate meter. Next to the Black Box Analog Design HG-2, its saturation is split across three linear-phase bands rather than applied to the full signal. It is unrelated to ADPTR Audio's reverb of the same name.
- Best for: quick, loud masters of your own productions, and bus processing where you want density and saturation in one step.
- Genres: any; general-purpose mastering.
- Look elsewhere if: you want a full mastering suite with EQ, imaging and an assistant (Ozone 12), or a dedicated limiter with loudness metering (Pro-L 2).
