Corrosion
by Sinevibes · Distortion · Multi-algorithm distortion
Not rated yet
Corrosion is a distortion from Sinevibes with 15 algorithms, from classic clippers to the developer's own curves, and up to 24 dB of gain.
It uses 4x oversampling with analog-style anti-aliasing filters, and adds a gain tilt for stereo effects and an exponential noise gate, for $39.
Best for: Drums, Bass, Keys & Synths, Guitars, Sound Design. Genres: Electronic & EDM, Hip-Hop & Trap, Rock & Indie.
Keywords: oversampling, bass, drums, rhythmic, subtle, synths, creative, heavy, multi-band, classic, destructive, extreme, mixing, smooth, sound design.
What it does
Corrosion is a multi-algorithm distortion that goes from subtle drive to "dramatic waveform bending, warping and destruction" with a small set of controls. Its 4x oversampling uses analog-style anti-aliasing filters for a smooth sound even when pushed hard.
- Algorithms: 15 distortion types; version 2 added parabolic, sine clip, sine bend and symmetric warp.
- Drive: distortion gain up to 24 dB (raised from 18 dB in version 1).
- Crossover: one frequency control sets both the upsampling filter of the distortion path and a high-pass filter on the dry signal.
- Tilt: a stereo tilt of the distortion gain drives one side harder than the other for width effects.
- Noise gate: an exponential gate with threshold, attack and release, for cleanup or creative chopping.
- Layout: three sections (Gate, Distortion, Mix), colour-coded graphics, built-in presets, lag filters on all continuous controls and window scaling up to 200%.
Corrosion v2 works mono to mono, mono to stereo and stereo to stereo. A demo version is available.

When to use it
Corrosion is the pick for a cheap, focused distortion with many curve types and a built-in gate. Compared with Saturn 2 it has no multiband splitting or modulation matrix, but its single crossover control gives some quick tone shaping between the dry and distorted signals. It is broader in curve choice than Devil-Loc Deluxe, which is about crushed, squashed drive, and cleaner and less lo-fi than Decimort 2, which centres on bit and sample-rate reduction. Unlike Thermal, it has no sequenced or multi-stage movement; changes come from the algorithm, drive and gate.
- Best for: driving synths, basses and drums, from light saturation to heavy waveshaping, and gated, chopped textures.
- Genres: electronic, techno, industrial, hip-hop and rock.
- Look elsewhere if: you need multiband distortion or detailed modulation (Saturn 2), or bitcrushing and sample-rate effects (Decimort 2).
What producers say
The few write-ups are positive about its range and sound.
- Sinesquares called it a "great and most importantly versatile distortion unit", praising the 15 algorithms, the clear Gate, Distortion and Mix layout, and how it handles both subtle and extreme settings.
- Synth Anatomy (2021, on the v2 update) said the Sinevibes plugins are innovative, "sound excellent" and are "priced very fair."
