What it does
Kompresor is a general-purpose compressor from Shattered Glass Audio, described as "versatile and powerful, yet easy to use". It is meant for single tracks, the mix bus and mastering, and its main idea is a choice of four envelope types.
- SIMPLE: a standard envelope with manual attack and release.
- AUTO: an adaptive envelope that adjusts its timing to the material.
- AUTO A: attack and release times that adapt sample by sample, for very transparent compression.
- PROGRAM: a program-dependent envelope aimed at gluing the mix bus.
Around the envelopes:
- Core controls: ratio up to 30:1, attack from 0.01 ms, soft knee up to 50 dB wide and auto makeup gain.
- Topology and detection: feedforward or feedback configuration, with peak or RMS detection.
- Sidechain: external sidechain input and a sidechain high-pass filter.
- Parallel and delta: parallel processing, and delta monitoring to hear only what the compressor removes.
- Other: 4x oversampling, a resizable interface and factory presets.

When to use it
Kompresor is a clean, flexible digital compressor rather than a vintage model. Compared with Pro-C 3, it costs much less and has fewer character styles, but it still offers feedforward or feedback topology, delta monitoring and a 50 dB soft knee. Like TDR Kotelnikov it aims at transparent compression, but its AUTO A and PROGRAM envelopes set the timing for you, which makes it quicker to use on a bus. Unlike the CLA-76 or CLA-2A, it adds no hardware colour, so it suits tracks where you want control without tone change.
- Best for: everyday compression on vocals, drums, bass and buses, and gentle mix-bus glue with the PROGRAM envelope.
- Genres: any.
- Look elsewhere if: you want a specific vintage character (CLA-76, CLA-2A) or a classic bus-compressor sound (SSL G-Master Buss Compressor).
