It adds an envelope follower, envelope, LFO, mod matrix and distortion, and comes with RP-Delay included, for $99.

Best for: Vocals, Keys & Synths, Drums, Sound Design. Genres: all genres.

Keywords: reverse, creative, sound design, algorithmic, drums, modulation matrix, preset-driven, tempo-synced, vocals, ambience, hall, mixing, modern, rhythmic, room, samples & loops, subtle, warm.

What it does

RP-VERB 2 is Rob Papen's algorithmic reverb, the follow-up to RP-VERB. It keeps a "dense and warm" reverb engine and adds tools for creative sound design.

A demo is available, and RP-Delay comes pre-installed with it.

When to use it

RP-VERB 2 is the sound-design reverb: its tempo-synced Reverser, modulation matrix and distortion turn reverb into an effect. Compared with VintageVerb, it has fewer modes and a more modern, digital sound, so it is not the pick for vintage character, and it costs twice as much. Compared with Pro-R 2, it lacks Pro-R 2's decay-rate EQ and detailed visual display, but adds modulation, distortion and reverse effects that Pro-R 2 doesn't have. Compared with Blackhole, it goes less far into huge spaces, and RP-Delay comes included.

What producers say

Reviewers saw it as a big step up from version 1 for creative work, with a modern sound and some lost features as the trade-offs.
