PRISM is Relooped's first plugin: six texture effects (Grain, Echo, Space, Vinyl, Reverse, Drive) in chain, parallel or spiral routing, with an always-listening looper that catches the last bars you played so you can repitch, reverse and reshape them.
Standard Edition $99 at launch (regular $139); a Creator Edition adds three expansion banks.
Best for: Keys & Synths, Guitars, Sound Design. Genres: Hip-Hop & Trap, Lo-Fi, R&B & Soul, Electronic & EDM.
Keywords: samples & loops, reverse, granular, parallel processing, electric guitar, keys, synths, lo-fi, bright, cinematic, creative, experimental, mixing, pitch-shifting, punchy, sound design, tape, wide.
What it does
PRISM is a multi-effect looper from Relooped, a German sample-pack company run by two producers, and its first plugin (released October 2026). It is built to give plain melodies texture and movement: six effects colour whatever passes through, and a looper that is "always listening" catches what you just played and layers it back.
- Six effects: Grain, Echo, Space, Vinyl, Reverse and Drive, usable on any track with or without a caught loop. Effect cards can be dragged to reorder them.
- Signal flow: Chain runs the effects in series, Parallel runs them side by side, and Spiral feeds them back into each other.
- Three LFOs: five waveform shapes, synced from 1/32 to 2 bars. Click any knob to link it to an LFO, for example to move the Echo feedback.
- Looper capture: press LOOP to catch the last four bars; you can jump to an earlier part or drag the waveform to slide the capture point. Seven lengths from 1/16 to 4 bars, locked to the DAW tempo and changeable after capture.
- Loop shaping: eight volume envelope shapes from a punchy start to a slow swell (or a custom shape from four draggable points), repitch up to ±12 semitones in time, and reverse.
- Half-time and Pitch: a tape-style half-speed mode (an octave down, still on the beat) and a ±12-semitone shift of the whole sound.
- Export: drag the loop to a track as a WAV with shape, pitch and reverse applied, ready to loop without a gap.
- Presets: 80 factory presets sorted by category, searchable by name, category or effect, with favourites and user presets.
The Creator Edition adds three 40-preset expansion banks, Kaleidoscope (bright and moving), Panorama (wide and cinematic) and Dream Machine (experimental), which are also sold separately. Relooped promises free updates; no demo is mentioned, only audio examples and a walkthrough video.
When to use it
PRISM is the pick when you want to play a simple melody and have it turned into a textured, layered loop in one place. Its retrospective looper sets it apart from Effectrix2 and Stutter Edit 2, which slice and sequence the incoming audio rather than catching a phrase and letting you repitch, reverse and export it. Compared with Graindad, its Grain effect is one module among six, so it trades deep granular control for speed. Next to Super VHS and Lifeline Expanse it covers similar lo-fi colour (vinyl, drive, space) but adds the looper and a spiral feedback routing. As a first plugin from a new developer it has no track record yet.
- Best for: beatmakers sketching melodic loops from keys, guitar or synth, building textured layers and bouncing them out as samples.
- Genres: hip-hop and trap, lo-fi, R&B and melodic electronic music.
- Look elsewhere if: you need step-sequenced glitch effects (Effectrix2, Stutter Edit 2) or deep granular synthesis (Graindad).
- Tip: link the Echo feedback to an LFO (the developer's own example), then drag the caught loop out as a WAV to keep it as a sample.
