What it does

Spicerack is Process.Audio's creative distortion plugin, built to "distort, shape, and texturize your tracks," from subtle warmth on a bus to heavy fuzz. It pairs five distortion types with a linear-phase EQ and a gate on one screen.

The current version is 1.0.5 (October 2026). It was on sale when checked and has a 30-day free trial.

When to use it

Spicerack is the quicker, simpler choice when you want useful drive on a track without a deep sound-design session. Compared with Saturn 2 it has far fewer models and no multiband or modulation, but its built-in EQ, gate and auto gain cover the usual clean-up jobs in one place. It is more flexible than Devil-Loc Deluxe, which is a one-trick crushing box, and much less extreme than Trash. It also costs less than most of these, especially on sale.

What producers say
