What it does
Filter Factory is Process.Audio's creative filter, meant to "add texture & motion to your tracks" with pulsing filter grooves, wah and talk-box effects and analogue-style sweeps. You pick a filter voice, choose how it moves, and set the range it travels through.
- Eight filter voices: including Bass (tuned for low frequencies), Cry Baby (classic wah), Future, LP/HP, Phasor (phaser-like), Smooth (subtle movement) and Talk Box (vowel formants).
- Three motion modes: LFO, Envelope (follows the input's amplitude) or Manual, where you drag the filter position in real time.
- Min/Max range: set the lowest and highest filter positions the modulation sweeps between, shown and draggable on the filter display.
- Tone shaping: Drive, Tone (a dark-to-bright tilt), Spread (stereo frequency offset) and Style (resonance behaviour).
- Output and mix: Wet Gain, a wet-signal visualizer and a dry/wet Mix control for blending with the original.
- Quality and presets: oversampling to reduce aliasing, and over 70 presets.
The current version is 1.0.2 (September 2026). It was on sale when checked and has a 30-day free trial.

When to use it
Filter Factory is built for fast, playable movement rather than deep modulation design. Compared with Volcano 3, it has one filter at a time and no complex routing, but you can get a moving result in a couple of clicks. Unlike FilterShaper XL, it does not ask you to draw LFO shapes; its Envelope and Manual modes cover auto-wah and hand-played sweeps instead. Compared with FilterFreak, it trades some depth for character voices such as Cry Baby and Talk Box, which suit wah and vocal-style effects.
- Best for: filter sweeps, auto-wah and talk-box movement on synths, drum loops, guitars and bass.
- Genres: electronic, hip-hop and pop.
- Look elsewhere if: you want several filters with complex routing and modulation; Volcano 3 or Filterverse go much further.
- Tip: load Cry Baby on a flat loop, switch to Envelope mode and set Min/Max for an instant envelope wah.
