BIAS X is Positive Grid's AI-assisted amp and effects platform, released in 2025.
- Text-to-Tone: describe the sound you want and it builds a rig.
- Music-to-Tone: upload an audio clip (10 seconds to 15 minutes) and it builds a matching tone.
- Refine by asking: request changes like "more bite" or "less fuzz"; results stay fully editable.
- Gear: 33 amps (clean to high-gain, plus acoustic and bass), 63 effects and 25 cabinets with mic placement, plus third-party IR loading.
- Dual signal chains: for parallel processing and more complex routing.
It has no subscription; the current version is 1.2.4 (August 2026).

When to use it
BIAS X is the fastest route from an idea to a usable tone. Helix Stadium Native and AmpliTube 5 MAX have much bigger libraries, and TONEX and NAM are built on captures, while BIAS X uses modelled amps chosen and set up by its AI.
- Best for: quickly finding a starting tone, matching the sound of a reference track, and players who don't want to build rigs from scratch.
- Genres: rock, pop and metal.
- Look elsewhere if: you want deep component-level tweaking like older BIAS software.
- Tip: Music-to-Tone works best on isolated guitar rather than a full mix (KVR).
