Filtron by Polyverse

A free 12 dB state variable filter that morphs smoothly between lowpass, bandpass and highpass, with self-oscillating resonance.

Internal saturation and a two-mode post overdrive add grit, and it accepts stereo CV modulation at audio rate.

Best for: Keys & Synths, Drums, Bass, Sound Design. Genres: Electronic & EDM, Hip-Hop & Trap, Lo-Fi.

Keywords: free, overdrive, drums, smooth, sound design, synths, bass, creamy, gritty, lo-fi, mixing, oversampling, samples & loops.

What it does

Filtron is Polyverse's free filter, pitched as "voltage controlled fun." It is a zero-delay 12 dB state variable filter with a sweepable mode control and a built-in drive stage.

It is free.

When to use it

Filtron is the pick for a free, simple multimode filter with good-sounding saturation. It is simpler than Polyverse's own Filterverse and FabFilter Volcano 3, deeper paid filters with more modulation, and where Arturia Filter SEM models a specific analog design, Filtron is a general multimode filter.

What producers say

There are no user reviews yet; the main published opinion is positive about the sound and interface.
