A lush algorithmic reverb made with Infected Mushroom, designed for smooth, large tails rather than accurate rooms.
Five preset slots morph into each other with a Glide control, and every parameter can be driven by MIDI or CV.
Best for: Vocals, Keys & Synths, Sound Design, Guitars. Genres: Electronic & EDM, Ambient & Cinematic, Pop.
Keywords: smooth, lush, algorithmic, vocals, cinematic, mixing, musical, original design, rhythmic, sound design, pads, thick.
What it does
Comet is Polyverse's reverb, co-created with Infected Mushroom. Rather than modeling room physics, it aims for smooth, lush "trails of beauty" with a clear top end.
- Five morphing slots: store five settings and glide between them, with the glide time set by a dedicated control.
- Tempo-aware timing: pre-delay and glide can be set in milliseconds or rhythmic subdivisions.
- Parameter locks: lock parameters so they stay put when switching presets.
- Detune and saturation: a musical detune algorithm plus a saturation module for thicker tails.
- MIDI and CV control: every parameter can be controlled by MIDI or CV, including switching slots from notes.

When to use it
Comet goes for huge, otherworldly spaces, like Valhalla Supermassive and Eventide Blackhole, and it is less precise and realistic than FabFilter Pro-R 2. Its angle is performance: morphing between five stored settings, triggered by MIDI, so a reverb can change shape during a song.
- Best for: big pads, leads and vocal tails, builds and transitions where the space changes over time.
- Genres: electronic, ambient, cinematic and pop.
- Look elsewhere if: you need realistic rooms or a low-cost ambient reverb; Supermassive is free.
- Standout: preset morphing with Glide, controllable from MIDI notes.
What producers say
Reviewers and users praise the smooth, lush sound; complaints are about the morphing workflow and MIDI setup.
- MusicRadar (2019): called it "exceptionally rich, fluid, smooth and epic."
- Bedroom Producers Blog (2019): said its reflections "sparkle like no other reverb I've used so far."
- KVR users (2022): one reviewer gave 5/5: "Very nice sounding big reverb with easy settings."
- Gripe: MusicRadar found that Glide can't be bypassed while editing and all parameters glide at one rate; BPB found MIDI routing tedious to set up.
