A three-oscillator synth: two analog-style oscillators plus a wavetable oscillator that builds new wavetables from the first two at a click.

Each oscillator has its own filter, envelopes, LFO and effects, and a nine-module master effects rack finishes the sound; it is the remake of Soundspot's Union.

Best for: Keys & Synths, Bass, Sound Design. Genres: Electronic & EDM, Hip-Hop & Trap, Pop.

Keywords: wavetable, analog, hybrid, pads, plucks, harsh, lush, metallic, modulation matrix, monophonic, organ, oversampling, polyphonic, preset-driven, sound design, spectral, subtractive, warm.

What it does

WaveOSC is Plugin Boutique's take on "Wavetable synthesis... behind one single click." It is the updated version of Soundspot's Union synth, relaunched in the Core Collection with a new interface and presets.

Oscillators: two analog-style oscillators (sine, square, saw, triangle, noise, organ, metallic) and a third wavetable oscillator that generates wavetables from them, with unlinkable left and right positions.
Per-oscillator tools: each oscillator has its own filter, ADSR, mod ADSR and LFO; the wavetable oscillator gets its own phaser, distortion, delay and reverb. Unison runs up to 32 voices per oscillator.
Master effects: nine rearrangeable modules (compressor, 4-band EQ, distortion, delay, phaser, chorus, filter, flanger, reverb) with four assignable FX LFOs.
Workflow: drag-and-drop modulation, glide and velocity controls, spectral anti-aliasing, and a D-Mode that saves CPU; 300 presets.

Presets from the old Union synth cannot be loaded.

When to use it

WaveOSC is a simple wavetable option like Waves Codex, and far less deep than Vital and Serum 2, which have wavetable editors. Its hook is generating a wavetable from its two analog oscillators with one click, so you get moving sounds without editing tables. Pick it for quick, polished pads, plucks and basses at a low price.

Best for: lush pads, plucks and supersaws, and fast wavetable sounds for producers who do not want to edit tables.
Genres: EDM, trap, house, techno and pop.
Look elsewhere if: you want deep modulation (velocity and mod wheel routing are limited, per a KVR user) or Union preset support; Vital or Serum 2 go further.
Standout: one-click wavetable generation from oscillators 1 and 2.

What producers say

Plugin Boutique buyers like its sound and value, while KVR users are harsher about it being a reskin of Union and needing online checks.

Plugin Boutique customers (2026): "this one is truly a hidden gem," and "Making and shaping your own waves is the best part."
KVR users (2023–2024) were mixed: one said it "sounds warm and nice, it has its own character"; another rated it low, noting "This is soundspot union synth."
Gripe: a KVR reviewer (2023) complained "You have to be online all the time to use this"; others note old Union presets will not load.
