What it does

Gem Voice is Overloud's all-in-one vocal channel, "a comprehensive vocal production plug-in based on analog processors". It puts a full analog-style chain, from mic preamp to reverb and limiter, on one panel with every control in view.

KVR lists version 1.0.6. A trial is available.

When to use it

Gem Voice is the pick when you want a complete analog-modelled vocal chain in one window and like to dial it by ear. Compared with Nectar 4, it has no AI assistant or pitch correction, but it adds preamp and tape stages and a De-Boxer that Nectar's modules don't model the same way. It is broader than single-task tools like Pro-DS or Oxford SuprEsser, though its de-esser is one stage of many rather than a specialist. Its module order is fixed, so engineers who want to reorder stages will find a modular chain of separate plugins more flexible.

What producers say

Reviewers and buyers find it an easy, good-sounding vocal strip with strong presets; the main complaints are about flexibility.
