Gem Modula by Overloud

Gem Modula emulates three classic modulation units in one plugin: a Dimension D style chorus, a Solina-style ensemble and an SPX90-style symphonic effect.

It adds dual mode, input saturation and BPM sync. It costs about $101.06 (€89, regular €139).

Best for: Keys & Synths, Guitars, Vocals. Genres: Pop, Electronic & EDM, Rock & Indie.

Keywords: orchestra, chorus, classic, digital classic, hardware emulation, vocals, electric guitar, inspired by, spacious, wide, 90s, 80s, subtle, tempo-synced, huge, keys, synths, vintage, 70s, digital-sounding, mixing, modern, pads, strings, thick, thin.

What it does

Gem Modula puts three classic chorus and modulation units in one plugin: "Dimension, Ensemble and Symphonic, 3 plug-ins in 1". Each unit has its own character, and a shared set of modern controls sits around them.

KVR lists version 1.0.3. A trial is available.

When to use it

Gem Modula is the better pick when you want three different classic chorus flavours from one plugin. Compared with Studio D Chorus and Chorus DIMENSION-D, which model the Dimension D alone, it adds a string-ensemble chorus and an SPX90-style digital symphonic effect. Unlike TriceraChorus, it is built around vintage unit characters rather than one modern multi-voice design. It also goes beyond most single-unit emulations with Dual Mode, envelope control, custom LFO shapes and a built-in EQ.

What producers say

Coverage is thin so far; the launch write-up was positive about how usable all three units are.
