Gem Fuse is a suite of six analog coloration processors for mix busses and stereo stems.

It combines preamp, drive, EQ, HF smoother, stereo image and transformer stages. It costs about $101.06 (€89, regular €139).

What it does

Gem Fuse is a bus and mix processor that chains six analog-style stages in one plugin. Overloud describes them as "six processors that offer exceptional analog character and versatility", aimed at glue, weight and a smoother top end.

Analog Preamp and HPF: subtle preamp coloration with a discrete low-cut filter and a Fat option that cleans the lows while keeping warmth.
Analog Drive: harmonic saturation with gentle compression from circuit overload, meant to add glue and power.
Indigo EQ: a two-band shelving EQ with minimal phase shift for low-end weight and high-end presence.
HF Smoother: a dynamic processor that compresses only the high frequencies, taming harshness with a tape-like roll-off.
Stereo Image: frequency-dependent width control using stereo shuffling for more depth.
Transformer: a 600-ohm, 1:1 under-damped transformer model that saturates the lows and adds high-frequency phase shift.
Mid-Side and workflow: a built-in Mid-Side matrix for processing centre and sides separately, unit calibration for the amount of harmonics, multilevel undo and redo, and a resizable interface.

When to use it

Gem Fuse is the better pick when you want several gentle finishing moves on a bus from one plugin. Compared with Black Box Analog Design HG-2, it trades the tube saturation focus for a wider kit: preamp, drive, shelving EQ, a high-frequency de-harsher, width control and a transformer, plus Mid-Side. True Iron focuses on transformer colour alone, and Saturation Knob is just a single drive control. It is not built for heavy distortion the way Decapitator or Saturn 2 are.

Best for: adding weight, glue and a smoother top end to mix busses, drum and music stems, and dense mixes that sound harsh.
Genres: all genres, especially pop, rock and electronic mixes that need analog polish.
Look elsewhere if: you want obvious distortion or creative saturation (Decapitator or Saturn 2), or a single tape or tube colour in depth (Ampex ATR-102 or HG-2).
