What it does

LM-Correct is NUGEN Audio's offline loudness correction tool, offering "a unique, immediate and hassle-free route to loudness-compliant audio". It analyses a file, applies a target spec and renders a compliant version, faster than real time.

Three-step workflow: analyse the audio, pick a target preset or enter values by hand, then render; louder material is simply turned down.
Standards: ITU-R BS.1770, EBU R128 (including EBU mode), ATSC A/85, OP-59 and the CALM Act, plus Leq(m) (TASA) measurement.
True peak limiting: an integrated look-ahead limiter lets quieter material reach the target loudness without exceeding the peak limit.
Measures: conforms Integrated and True Peak levels, with Momentary and Short-term loudness options.
Repurposing: revert or re-target a file for different specs, useful for adapting legacy PPM-era content.
Channels: mono up to 7.1.4.
DynApt option: a paid extension for loudness range (LRA) and dynamics targets that aims to keep dialogue intelligible and respect dramatic transitions.

When to use it

LM-Correct is the pick when files need to be fixed to a loudness spec, not just measured. Compared with VisLM and WLM Plus, which are real-time meters, it does the correction itself in an offline pass, and it can batch many mixes quickly. Unlike the free Youlean Loudness Meter 2, it adds true peak limiting and repurposing for different specs, but it is a paid tool that works offline only. It suits broadcast, streaming and post delivery more than music mixing.

Best for: broadcast and streaming delivery, batch loudness compliance in Pro Tools, and re-purposing older content to new specs.
Genres: any; it is a delivery tool for TV, film, advertising and podcasts.
Look elsewhere if: you want real-time metering in any DAW (VisLM or Youlean Loudness Meter 2), or a music-mastering limiter (Pro-L 2).
