What it does

Echoes is a vintage delay that draws on "five iconic vintage single-line delays", from tape echo to oil-can and bucket-brigade pedals. Version 3 has a reworked sound engine, with tone and stereo controls on top of the vintage models.

Five echo models: PLX-1 and PLX-3 (based on the Echoplex EP-1 and EP-3 tape echoes), OILCAN (the Tel-Ray oil-can echo), EHX-DM (the Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man) and ADM-2 (the Boss DM-2 analog delay).
Model order: the models run from cleaner, more hi-fi repeats to darker, more colored ones, picked with one Echo Mode knob.
Time and repeats: delay time synced to tempo or set freely in 10 ms steps, with feedback and echo level controls.
Vintage filter: a switch that rolls off the highs of the repeats for a darker, older sound.
Mode-dependent tone: depending on the model, bass, treble, wow/flutter and modulation controls shape the repeats.
Stereo: a width control and ping-pong panning take it from a mono slap to a wide stereo echo, with a dry/wet mix up to fully wet.

KVR lists version 3.1.1, and the developer dates the current release 27 October 2025. It is often discounted, and KVR lists a demo. It is also part of the Magnetics Bundle and the Integral Studio Pack.

When to use it

Echoes is a simple, cheap way to get the sound of a few classic pedal and tape echoes, with one knob to switch between them. Compared with Soundtoys EchoBoy, it has far fewer styles and no multi-tap rhythm or groove controls, but it costs much less. Unlike Universal Audio's Galaxy Tape Echo, which models one Space Echo in depth, it spreads across five units, including an oil-can echo few plugins cover. Computer Music judged its Echoplex below UA's EP-34 but praised its Memory Man and Oilcan modes. It is a good choice when you want character fast rather than deep editing.

Best for: slapback and warm echo on vocals, guitars and keys, and modulated Memory Man-style repeats on guitar.
Genres: rock, blues, pop, soul, indie and lo-fi.
Look elsewhere if: you need multi-tap rhythms, deep modulation or many more styles; EchoBoy or ValhallaDelay offer more.
Tip: try the models on different sources; reviewers found some suit keys and guitar better than drums, and the right-hand models give the darkest repeats.

What producers say

Reviews are positive about the character of the five models; most date from the first version.

Computer Music (via MusicRadar, 2011) called it "a flavoursome, flexible vintage delay unit", praising the Memory Man and Oilcan modes, longer delay times than the hardware and the ping-pong option; it found the Echoplex weaker than UA's EP-34 and missed a pan control for the delay alone.
Sounds and Gear (2011) gave it 5 out of 5, calling it "fun, simple to use, and sounds great", with tight sync and a distinct character per mode.
KVR users rate it 4 out of 5 from 1 review; that review (version 1.1.0) noted that only bypass could be automated and that switching models reset earlier tweaks.
