Blue Tubes Analog TrackBox is a vintage-inspired channel strip that combines tube tone, a gate, a compressor, a 4-band EQ, filters and a limiter.

Its 12AX7-style tube stage has single- and dual-triode modes, and it is on promo at $19.99 (list price $99).

What it does

Blue Tubes Analog TrackBox is Nomad Factory's tube-flavored channel strip, putting dynamics, EQ, filtering and tube coloring into one signal path. The developer says it puts "warmth, density, and musical response" ahead of technical complexity.

Tube stage: 12AX7-style harmonic coloring that can move between single-triode and dual-triode behavior, for anything from mild warmth to obvious saturation.
Gate: a gate for cleaning up noise and spill before the rest of the chain.
Compressor: a compressor for leveling and adding density.
4-band parametric EQ: four fully parametric bands for broad or targeted tone shaping.
High-pass and low-pass filters: for trimming rumble and top end around the EQ.
Output limiter: a brick-wall peak limiter at the end of the chain to catch peaks.

The current version was released on 2 March 2026 and is distributed by Plugivery. It was on promotion when checked, and it is also part of the Blue Tubes Bundle and the Integral Studio Pack. The product page does not mention a demo.

When to use it

The TrackBox is the better pick when you want a cheap all-in-one strip with tube saturation built in, rather than the sound of a specific console. Compared with Scheps Omni Channel, it has a simpler set of modules and no multiband or sidechain features listed, but it adds a dedicated tube stage and costs far less. Unlike Native Channel Strip 2 or the API Vision Channel Strip Collection, it does not model an SSL or API console, so its color comes from the tube stage rather than a console EQ curve. Neutron 5 offers analysis and assistant-driven mixing, which the TrackBox does not try to do.

Best for: one-plugin processing of vocals, bass, drums, synths and acoustic guitars when you want warmth and density quickly.
Genres: R&B, hip-hop, rap, pop and rock, per the developer.
Look elsewhere if: you want a faithful console channel (Native Channel Strip 2, bx_console SSL 4000 E), sidechain and advanced dynamics (Scheps Omni Channel), or mix assistance (Neutron 5).
Tip: reviewer Rick Veneer usually sets the tube drive between 10 o'clock and halfway, pushing further only when he wants aggressive distortion.

What producers say

Reviews are few and mostly of earlier versions, but consistently positive about the sound, CPU use and value.

Rick Veneer (2015) highly recommended it, praising the tube module, the 4-band EQ with adjustable bandwidth and the fast workflow; he often uses it instead of better-known plugins, especially on acoustic guitar.
Audiofanzine users rate it 5 out of 5 from 2 reviews (2010), praising the light CPU load, stability, "stellar sound quality" and the price.
Criticisms: one Audiofanzine user missed a sidechain option.
