Purr-Fect is a Noisebud utility that compensates for gain changes made by a plugin, a plugin chain or a hardware loop in real time.
The developer says it reacts faster than RMS-based gain matchers, which helps with quick EQ moves; KVR lists it as free through Noisebud's Patreon.
Best for: Mix Bus, Mastering, Vocals, Drums. Genres: all genres.

What it does
Purr-Fect is a small utility that compensates for gain changes "in plugins, plugin chains, or hardware loops in real time". The idea is to hear what a processor does to the tone, not just to the level, so a louder result does not fool your ears.
- Real-time matching: you place it around a plugin, a chain of plugins or a hardware insert, and the output level is pulled back to match the input as you work.
- Speed: the developer built it because existing gain matchers felt too slow, and says it reacts faster than RMS-based tools such as LetiMix GainMatch or MeterPlugs Perception.
- EQ-friendly: tuned for quick, sudden changes, such as boosting or cutting an EQ band, where slower matchers lag behind.
- Any chain: works on single plugins, whole chains and external hardware loops, so you can level-match gear that has no auto-gain of its own.
- Build: made in SynthEdit, according to KVR.
The current version is 1.53 (April 2026), an update to a project the developer had marked as discontinued. It was listed as free and is distributed through Noisebud's Patreon, where the current download post is for paying members.
When to use it
Purr-Fect is the pick when you want automatic gain matching around any plugin or hardware insert, with a response fast enough to follow EQ moves as you make them. Unlike REFERENCE 3 and Metric AB, it does not compare your mix with reference tracks; it only removes the loudness difference a processor adds. Compared with LetiMix GainMatch, the developer claims it reacts faster because it does not rely on RMS averaging. It has no metering or loudness targets, so it does not replace a meter such as Youlean Loudness Meter 2. Its scope is narrow, but it fills a gap in plugins that lack their own auto-gain.
- Best for: honest before/after checks on EQs, saturators, compressors and hardware inserts while mixing.
- Genres: any.
- Look elsewhere if: you want to compare your mix with reference tracks (REFERENCE 3 or Metric AB) or need loudness metering (Youlean Loudness Meter 2).
