360

360 is a free phase rotator from Noisebud that rotates the whole signal equally across all frequencies, rather than in narrow bands like an all-pass filter.
Rotating the left or right channel on its own gives Haas-like width without delay, and it is free; a paid 360Pro edition also exists.
Best for: Mix Bus, Mastering, Vocals, Keys & Synths, Guitars. Genres: all genres.
Keywords: wide, free, mono-compatible, mixing, vinyl, full mix, simple, bass, bus processing, creative, kick, mastering, mix bus, repair, subtle, surgical, vocals.
What it does
360 is a free phase rotator from Noisebud that turns the whole signal by the same amount at every frequency. The developer built it as a simple tool to "fix phase problems during mixing", and it doubles as a way to shape the stereo image with phase alone.
- Full-range rotation: the phase shift is equal across the whole spectrum, unlike classic all-pass designs that only act on a narrow band.
- Channel modes: rotate the full stereo signal, the left channel only or the right channel only.
- Phase repair: line up sources that partly cancel each other, such as two mics on one instrument or a layered bass and kick.
- Width without delay: rotating one side opens the image in a way similar to the Haas effect, but with no delay and no phase smearing.
- Mono and vinyl safety: the developer says rotations up to about 50 degrees stay phase-safe, mono-compatible and vinyl-safe.
- Creative use: suggested as an alternative to reverb or delay when you want a sound to feel wider without adding a tail.
- Simple build: a small one-job interface, made with SynthEdit.
The current version is 1.01. It is free and downloads from Noisebud's Patreon page. 360Pro is a separate paid edition aimed at phase-based stereo width and spatial shaping.
When to use it
360 is the pick when the problem is phase itself, or when you want width that does not cost mono compatibility. Compared with Ozone Imager and S1 Stereo Imager, it has no mid/side gain, bands or vectorscope; it only rotates phase, so it cannot narrow a mix, but it widens without changing level balance between mid and side. Unlike Polyverse Wider, which also aims for mono-safe widening, 360 can be used on one channel at a time and as a fix for cancellation between sources. Its single-purpose design makes it quick, though the free version has fewer options than 360Pro.
- Best for: fixing phase between tracks and adding subtle, mono-compatible width to single sources.
- Genres: any.
- Look elsewhere if: you want multiband width control and a stereo meter (Ozone Imager), or more phase-based spatial options (360Pro).
- Tip: stay at or below about 50 degrees when the track must hold up in mono or on vinyl, as the developer advises.
