What it does
FrozenVerb is NoiseAsh's algorithmic reverb, built to give a fast, high-quality reverb sound with "easy access to mission critical controls". Its standout feature is a Freeze button that turns the reverb into an endless, continuous sustain.
- Natural Reverb Engine: a single algorithmic engine meant to cover bright vocal reverbs, realistic room simulations and very long reverb tails.
- Freeze: holds the reverb indefinitely as a continuous sustain, so any source can become a pad or drone.
- Synth pad effects: the developer names pad effects as a main use, combining long tails with Freeze.
- Stereo Widener: a separate unit that widens the stereo image of the reverb.
- 4-band EQ: a solid-state style four-band equalizer for shaping the reverb's tone.
- Interface: a resizable GUI, with all parameters automatable in real time.
The demo is fully functional with no time limit but mutes briefly every 30 seconds.
When to use it
FrozenVerb is the pick when you want a quick, simple reverb with one special trick: the Freeze button that turns any tail into a held pad. Compared with Valhalla VintageVerb, it has a single engine instead of 22 modes and no era colour switches, so it is faster to set but much less varied in character. Unlike FabFilter Pro-R 2, it offers no decay-shaping EQ or visual feedback; its 4-band EQ only shapes the overall tone. Compared with the free Valhalla Supermassive, which goes much further into vast ambient washes and echoes, FrozenVerb stays closer to a plain room-to-hall reverb with freeze on top.
- Best for: fast vocal and instrument reverbs, and frozen pad or drone textures made from any sound.
- Genres: ambient, cinematic, pop and electronic.
- Look elsewhere if: you want many vintage algorithms (VintageVerb), detailed decay shaping and a visual display (Pro-R 2), or a free plugin for huge ambient tails (Supermassive).
