Action Delay by NoiseAsh

Action Delay combines analog-style delay, chorus, reverb and lo-fi distortion in one plugin, with tape, ping-pong, Haas and sequenced delay modes.

Left and right delays can be set independently, synced or free, and it was listed at $39.90 on sale (regular $90).

Best for: Vocals, Guitars, Keys & Synths, Sound Design. Genres: all genres.

Keywords: lo-fi, chorus, ping-pong, tape, wide, clean, mixing, vocals, analog-sounding, bright, classic, simple, bitcrush, CPU-light, crunchy, deep, enhancement, flat UI, resizable UI, set-and-forget, sound design, tape echo, tempo-synced, thin.

What it does

Action Delay is NoiseAsh's "literally 4 in 1" delay: a hybrid delay engine with lo-fi degradation, chorus and reverb built in. It is part of NoiseAsh's simple, plug-and-play range, summed up by the developer as "Full Power – Simplicity – Creativity".

The demo is fully functional with no time limit but mutes briefly every 30 seconds.

When to use it

Action Delay is the better pick when you want a quick, clean delay with reverb, chorus and lo-fi already on board, at a low price. Compared with Waves H-Delay, it sounds brighter and cleaner, where H-Delay has a more lo-fi, analog tone. Compared with Soundtoys EchoBoy and FabFilter Timeless 3, it has far fewer echo styles and no detailed modulation routing, but it is faster to set up. Unlike Valhalla Delay, it adds a built-in reverb to blend the repeats without a second plugin.

What producers say

Coverage is thin; the one in-depth user review found it a clean, quick-to-use delay.
