What it does
Parallax X is a bass plugin that splits the signal so the low end is compressed and the mids and highs are distorted separately.
- Low band: compression for the bass foundation.
- Mid and high bands: distortion using tube modelling.
- Tone and cab: six-band graphic EQ and cabinet simulation with six virtual microphone positions.
- Extras: transpose of plus or minus 12 semitones, plus tuner and metronome in the standalone app.

When to use it
Best for heavy bass in metal, rock and industrial styles where you want grit in the upper mids without losing weight below. It keeps the low end clean by design, whereas Darkglass Ultimate is a fuller amp-and-cab bass rig with preamps and more pedals.
