What it does
OLDTIMER is a dual-topology delay that blends a 1960s bucket-brigade (analog) engine with a 1970s digital delay engine.
- Topology control: blends between the analog and digital engines.
- Delay time: 10 ms to 2.5 seconds, with DAW tempo sync.
- Routing: Spread and Style controls give stereo, ping-pong and overlapping patterns.
- Modulation and glitch: a modulation engine with sine and random waveform blending, plus a Glitch function.
- Filters: low-pass and high-pass filters with resonance.
When to use it
OLDTIMER suits echoes that wobble, smear and degrade in a vintage way, with the option to move towards a cleaner digital repeat. It is less of an all-rounder than EchoBoy or Valhalla Delay, and more of a character delay.
- Best for: dubby throws, slapback, ping-pong and lo-fi repeats on vocals, guitars and synths.
- Genres: lo-fi, dub, indie, psychedelic and ambient.
