What it does

Voice DC30 (full name Voice DC30 Custom Valve Guitar Amplifier) models a vintage VOX AC30 Top Boost Reverb, the classic British class A combo. The developer aims for its "jangly" top end, from clean chime to raucous overdrive.

Normal channel: volume and tone controls for the simpler, warmer AC30 voice.
Brilliant channel: a separate gain stage with cathode follower, with bass and treble and an optional top boost placed after the distortion.
Vib-Trem channel: choose vibrato (pitch wavering) or tremolo (volume wavering), with a three-position speed switch.
Filters: Tight cuts low end, Rumbling reduces low-frequency rumble and Harsh softens the highs.
Noise gate: threshold, range and gate speed controls.
Cabinets: eight guitar cabinets and four microphone models, with an on/off-axis switch, continuous position and distance knobs and a mixer with solo, mute, pan and faders.
IR loader: load and blend up to three third-party impulse responses with volume, pan, phase, solo and mute, plus a browser.

The current version is 2.0.5. It was on sale when checked, and a demo is available.

When to use it

Voice DC30 is a single, low-cost AC30 model with all three channels and the Vib-Trem circuit, the better pick when you want that one amp done in depth. Compared with AmpliTube 5 MAX or Guitar Rig 7 Pro, it has one amp and no effects, but it includes the AC30's own vibrato and tremolo and costs far less on sale. Unlike Paradise Guitar Studio, it has no pedals or rack effects around the amp. It is not a high-gain amp, so it is a poor match for Archetype-style metal tones.

Best for: jangly cleans, chimey crunch and AC30-style tremolo on guitar.
Genres: indie, Britpop, rock, pop, alt-country.
Look elsewhere if: you need high gain (Archetype: Gojira X) or built-in delay and reverb (AmpliTube 5 MAX).
Tip: a KVR reviewer pushes it with overdrive pedals such as an SD-1, Tube Screamer or OCD, and uses the Cut control to tame sharp treble.

What producers say

The few users who wrote about it rate it highly for authenticity and value.

KVR users give it 5 out of 5 from 1 review; the reviewer (2021) called it the "most authentically sounding simulation of this iconic amp" and praised its pick response and cabinets.
Criticisms: the same reviewer found the bright channel's treble "a little bit too sharp" at high settings and missed some real tube sweetness.
Gig Performer forum users said it had "turned into one of my favourites", with light CPU use, and suggested it as a Vox-style alternative to S-Gear.
