A guitar amp plugin from Nembrini Audio modeled on the Marshall JMP-1 preamp, with four channels and an EL34 power amp.

It adds delay, chorus or tremolo, reverb, a compressor, six cabinets and an IR loader, and is on sale for $29.99 (regular $137).

Best for: Guitars. Genres: Rock & Indie, Metal.

Keywords: electric guitar, clean, impulse-response based, aggressive, tube, crunchy, 90s, hardware emulation, modern, tight, bass, lo-fi.

What it does

JMP Pro (JMP Pro Valve Guitar Amplifier) models the Marshall JMP-1 rack preamp, which the developer describes as "four voiced channels of pure tone". It adds a virtual power amp, cabinets and studio effects for use in a modern mix.

The current version is 1.0.8. It was on sale when checked.

When to use it

JMP Pro is the better pick when you want the tight, mid-heavy sound of the JMP-1 rack era in one cheap, focused plugin. Compared with AmpliTube 5 MAX and Guitar Rig 7 Pro, it has only one preamp, but it models that unit's four channels in detail and still includes delay, modulation, reverb and an IR loader. Next to Neural DSP's Archetype: Nolly X or Gojira X it is far cheaper, though one Gear Forum user placed Nembrini's amps a tier below Neural DSP and Line 6. If you mainly need a modern high-gain metal suite, those are the stronger choice; for 1990s rack tones, JMP Pro is more specific.

What producers say

The few user reports are positive, with JMP Pro named as one of Nembrini's stronger models.
