What it does

Crunck V2 is a free, one-channel guitar amp built around a single gain knob. The developer pitches it as a "pick up your guitar and play" amp for styles from metal to fusion and rock to blues, and does not name an original amp.

Single gain knob: a 0 to 10 range that moves through clean, crunch and high-gain tones as you turn it up.
Amp feel: designed for a natural, amp-like reaction to playing dynamics.
Built-in cabinet: a 4x12 cabinet with Vintage 30 speakers.

When to use it

Crunck V2 is for players who want a usable amp tone in seconds without a page of controls. Compared with Neural Amp Modeler, the other free amp on the site, it needs no captured amp profiles or IR hunting, since the gain knob and built-in cabinet do the work. It is much smaller than Guitar Rig 7 Pro or AmpliTube 5 MAX, which add many amps, effects and full tone stacks, but it costs nothing and loads instantly. Next to Nembrini's paid amps such as EN Hardball, it has one channel, no filters and no gate.

Best for: quick free rock, blues and crunch tones, sketching guitar parts, and as a simple starting point for your own IRs.
Genres: rock, hard rock, blues, fusion, some metal.
Look elsewhere if: you want EQ control, effects, several channels or a named amp model; AmpliTube 5 MAX or Guitar Rig 7 Pro cover that.
Tip: at high gain, put a separate noise gate in front of it, as a KVR reviewer suggests.
