What it does
Cali Reverb (Cali Reverb Modern High Gain Guitar Amplifier) is Nembrini Audio's model of the 50-watt Mesa Boogie Rectoverb head, a two-channel amp with a built-in reverb. Around the amp sit cabinets, mics, an IR loader and a noise gate.
- Channel 1: Clean for tight, clear tones and Pushed for mid-gain.
- Channel 2: Raw for crunch and blues, Vintage for warm high gain, and Modern for the heaviest, most saturated tones.
- Filters: Tight and Rumbling cut low-frequency content to keep palm mutes focused; Harsh tames the top end.
- Noise gate: threshold, range and a speed control.
- Reverb: the amp's own reverb, after which the plugin is named.
- Cabinets and mics: eight guitar cabinets and four microphone models, with on/off-axis choice, continuous position and distance knobs, and a mixer with solo, mute, pan and faders to blend two mics with ambience.
- IR loader: load up to three third-party impulse responses, each with volume, pan, phase, solo and mute, plus a browser for IR files.
The current version is 2.0.8. It is on sale, and a demo can be downloaded.

When to use it
Cali Reverb is a single amp aimed at the classic Mesa Rectifier-family high-gain sound. Compared with Cali Dual from the same developer, which models the larger three-channel Dual Rectifier, it is the two-channel Rectoverb with its own reverb and more cabinets. Compared with Archetype: Gojira X or Nolly X, it offers one amp and no pedals or studio effects, but five voicings across two channels and a full mic mixer. Unlike AmpliTube 5 MAX or Helix Stadium Native, it will not build a whole rig; it is for players who already know they want this amp.
- Best for: modern high-gain rhythm and lead guitar, with the Clean and Pushed modes covering cleaner parts.
- Genres: metal, hard rock, metalcore and alternative rock.
- Look elsewhere if: you want pedals, effects and many amps in one plugin (Archetype: Gojira X, AmpliTube 5 MAX), or captures of your own gear (Neural Amp Modeler).
