What it does

Acoustic Voice Pro is a preamp and body modeler for acoustic guitar recorded through a pickup or DI. It applies models of real acoustic guitars and the microphones used to record them, so a piezo signal sounds closer to a miked instrument.

Guitar models: ten instruments: Martin 1936 0-17, Martin 0028EC, Martin HD-28V, Gibson L-00, Weissenborn, Landola J80E, Guild D140CE, Ayers DSR, Taylor 814ce Deluxe and Taylor Grand Theater K21e.
Microphones: five mic models: Audix ADX51, Beyerdynamic M201, Shure SM57, Electro-Voice RE20 and AKG C414.
IR loader: loads factory or third-party impulse responses, with blend and pan controls and a real-time frequency response display.
Pedal section: noise gate, DI preamp, compressor and doubler ahead of the body and mic stages.
EQ: a visual parametric equalizer with gain, frequency and Q per band.
Post effects: analog delay, room reverb and modulation for a finished live or studio sound.

When to use it

Acoustic Voice Pro is the better pick when the source is an acoustic guitar with a pickup and you want it to sound miked. Compared with Helix Stadium Native and AmpliTube 5 MAX, which are built around electric amps and treat acoustic as a side feature, it is dedicated to acoustic guitar, with ten named body models and five mic models in one window. Unlike TONEX MAX or Neural Amp Modeler, it does not capture or load amp profiles; it reshapes a DI acoustic signal through body and mic models. It is also far cheaper than a full suite. It works on a real acoustic's pickup signal, not as a way to turn an electric guitar into an acoustic.

Best for: improving piezo and DI acoustic guitar recordings, live acoustic rigs and home demos where miking is not practical.
Genres: singer-songwriter, folk, pop, country and acoustic rock.
Look elsewhere if: you already record acoustic guitar with good microphones (a plain EQ and reverb may be enough), or you want amp tones too; Helix Stadium Native or AmpliTube 5 MAX cover both.
Tip: feed it a piezo-equipped acoustic rather than an electric guitar; Loopy Pro forum users found that essential for convincing results.

Loopy Pro forum users (iOS version) called the dynamics "incredible" and found the Taylor model convincing; one suggested it may be the developer's best app.
