Master Plan is an all-in-one mastering plugin that handles loudness, stereo width, three-band tone shaping and dynamics in one window.
Genre presets give quick starting points; it is $119 (list $175), or $10 a month for 12 months to own.
Best for: Mastering, Mix Bus. Genres: all genres.
Keywords: mastering, wide, multi-band, tape, full mix, metering, mid/side, true-peak, auto-gain, bus processing, clean, gentle, heavy, mix bus, mono-compatible, rent-to-own, smooth, thick.
What it does
Master Plan is Musik Hack's all-in-one mastering plugin: a limiter and clipper at its core, with EQ, saturation, compression, tape and width stages around it. The developer says it is "built to help engineers move faster" while keeping control.
- Loud: the main control, which drives the signal up to 24 dB into a combined limiter and clipper; Out sets the true peak ceiling from -0.1 to -12 dB.
- Tone: a low shelf (±6 dB) and high shelf (±8 dB) early in the chain, plus Clean, a 2 dB dip around 200 Hz to clear mud.
- Calm: cuts around 4 kHz and 8 kHz to soften harshness; the x2 setting adds cuts at 6 kHz and 12 kHz.
- Dynamics and colour: Multi, a three-band compressor with fixed crossovers and up to 6 dB of reduction; Smooth, a gentle single-band compressor; Thick saturation and Tape modelling, each with a 0–100 amount.
- Wide: mid-side stereo widening that keeps phase coherence.
- Metering and monitoring: integrated and short-term LUFS, true peak and crest factor, with mono, dim, band-pass, NS10 and phone listening modes.
- Comparison: a Unity button for level-matched listening, a delay-compensated bypass, and genre presets as starting points.
It is also available rent-to-own over 12 months. A 10-day free demo is available.

When to use it
Master Plan is the faster, simpler pick for a loud, balanced master: one Loud knob and a row of switchable stages instead of a full module rack. Compared with Ozone 12 it has far fewer parameters, fixed multiband crossovers and no dither, but it is harder to get a bad result. Unlike Pro-L 2 or Elevate, it is a whole chain rather than a dedicated limiter, adding tone, saturation, tape and width in one window. Its built-in phone and NS10 listening modes also save a trip to a separate monitoring plugin.
- Best for: quick masters of your own mixes, demos, beat tapes and stems, especially for producers new to mastering.
- Genres: all genres, with genre presets; best suited to loud modern pop, hip-hop and electronic.
- Look elsewhere if: you need per-band control, M/S EQ and dither (Ozone 12), or a transparent limiter with deep settings (Pro-L 2).
- Tip: press Unity before judging a setting, so you compare the sound rather than the extra loudness.
What producers say
Reviewers found it gets good, loud results quickly, with limited depth the main trade-off.
- Sound On Sound praised the "great-sounding combination of limiter and clipper" and clean sound under heavy limiting, but noted fixed crossovers, limited M/S control and no dither.
- MusicRadar said it makes home mastering "a reality for all" and liked the phone filter, but found the graphics small and hard to read.
- Criticisms: not a do-everything mastering suite, and the default settings are not fully transparent.
