What it does
Organteq 2 is Modartt's pipe organ instrument. Instead of playing samples, it synthesizes flue and reed pipe sounds in real time through physical modeling.
- Organ: three manuals plus pedalboard with customizable stops; 36 German Baroque and 39 French Romantic stops are included.
- Voicing: per-pipe controls for volume, detune, brightness, chiff and tremulant sensitivity.
- Presets and routing: over 50 historical and experimental organ presets; an audio routing matrix for up to 8 channels; MIDI learn and touchscreen support.
When to use it
Organteq is the pick when you want a playable, tweakable organ that does not need gigabytes of samples, so it runs comfortably on a laptop. Modeling also means you can voice individual pipes, which sample libraries cannot do.
- Best for: church and classical organ, Baroque and Romantic repertoire, and film scoring.
