What it does

Two-Rock Bloomfield Drive is MixWave's model of the Two-Rock Bloomfield Drive amp, made over two years with Two-Rock's owner Eli Lester. It aims for the amp's "high headroom and smooth transition from clean to overdriven tones."

Amp: Normal and Lead sides with their own drive and volume, a Bass, Middle, Treble and Presence tone stack, and Bright, Mid and Deep switches, as described by Sound On Sound.
Power section: switchable 6L6 or 6V6 output tubes and a half-power mode.
Tone controls: Vibe to lift top-end harmonics, plus Focus and Contour for mix-ready finishing.
Effects: an overdrive pedal with a warm midrange push and a tube-driven reverb with adjustable send and return, stereo through dual-unit modeling.
Cabinet: a Two-Rock 2x12 vertical cabinet with two TR12 speakers and 21 dynamic, ribbon and condenser microphones you can place.
EQ and compressor: before or after the amp, for shaping tone and level without other plugins.

When to use it

Two-Rock Bloomfield Drive is the better pick for players who want one high-headroom boutique amp done in depth, with touch-sensitive cleans and smooth drive. Compared with Paradise Guitar Studio, which Sound On Sound names as competition at a similar price, it focuses on one Two-Rock model rather than a wider suite of Dumble-style amps. Unlike Archetype: Cory Wong X, it has no wide set of studio effects, but it goes deeper on one amp, with tube, power and microphone choices.
