What it does

Teezio Azul is a FET compressor made with Grammy-winning mixer and engineer Teezio, modeled on his own vintage Blue Stripe unit. He tried many software versions and none matched it, so he worked with MixWave to capture "the tone, response, and unmistakable feel" of his hardware.

Vintage mode: the main voice, harmonically rich and forward, with very fast FET response.
Clean mode: a transparent, neutral voice for when you want the compression without the colour.
All Buttons In: the classic all-ratios-in setting for extra saturation, attitude and aggression.
Parallel mix: a global wet/dry control, so you can blend in heavy compression without a separate bus.
Filters: dedicated input and output filters to shape what the compressor reacts to and what comes out.
Quality: component-level modeling with up to 8x oversampling.

A 14-day fully working trial is available.

When to use it

Teezio Azul is the pick for fast, forward FET compression tuned by a working hip-hop and R&B mixer, with modern extras built in. Compared with the 1176 Classic Limiter Collection and CLA-76, it models one specific Blue Stripe unit and adds a Clean voice, a wet/dry mix, filters and oversampling. A Gearspace user found it a little more transparent than other 1176-style plugins. Unlike Pro-C 3, it gives you a classic hardware feel rather than many styles and detailed visual feedback.

Best for: aggressive vocal compression, drums, parallel crush and bass.
Genres: hip-hop, R&B and pop.
Look elsewhere if: you want slow, smooth leveling; the Teletronix LA-2A Leveler Collection or CLA-2A fits better.
Tip: use the wet/dry mix with All Buttons In for parallel drum or vocal crush inside one plugin.

What producers say

Gearspace users liked the sound but many felt the price was high for a crowded 1176 market.

Gearspace thread one user said it "sounds great" and holds up "extremely well" against hardware; another found it a bit more transparent than alternatives.
Criticisms: several users said the price was "out of whack with market," one wanted loyalty discounts, and one found the gain-reduction meter lagged about 250 ms behind, though it does not affect the sound.
