What it does
Milkman JHS Slap Boost models the pedal JHS and Milkman Sound made together: "a classic slap delay with an EQ and a simple yet driving clean boost." MixWave pitches it as a partner for the Milkman Creamer amp or any other amp.
- Slapback side: a short, classic slapback echo with the same pedal-style control scheme as the original.
- EQ: adjusts the tone of the repeats.
- Boost side: a simple, driving clean boost to push an amp or amp sim; it works independently of the delay.
- Sync: a sync button on the plugin panel.
- Utility filters: input and output low-pass and high-pass filters.
- Mono and stereo: works on either.

When to use it
Milkman JHS Slap Boost is a quick, low-cost way to get slapback and a clean push on guitar, with pedal-simple controls. Compared with EchoBoy, which has 30 echo styles and groove controls, or ValhallaDelay, it covers only short slap echoes, but it costs a fraction of EchoBoy and adds a boost they don't have. It is narrower than H-Delay too, with no long or rhythmic delays. Its natural partner is an amp sim, where the boost and slap together give a classic rockabilly front end.
- Best for: slapback guitar and vocals, and boosting amp sims.
- Genres: rockabilly, country, rock and pop.
- Look elsewhere if: you need longer, modulated or rhythmic delays; EchoBoy or ValhallaDelay cover those.
