What it does

MTurboFilter promises "your custom filter, your signature sound". It offers ready-made analog filter models plus an algorithm designer for building your own filters from modular stages.

Filter models: 9 analog models inspired by vintage synthesizers, ranging from acidic squelch to heavy crunch.
Algorithm designer: mix biquad or state-variable low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and notch filters with various slopes.
Extra stages: add wave-shapers, compressors, feedback, comb filters, saturators and bit-crushers to a design.
Drive and resonance: overdrive emulation, a dedicated feedback control and variable resonance compensation.
LFOs: morphable or drawable shapes, host sync and step sequencers.
Envelope followers: track the input audio or a sidechain signal.
MSoundFactory: the same filter is also built into MeldaProduction's MSoundFactory synth.

When to use it

MTurboFilter is the pick for users who want to design the filter itself, not just modulate a fixed one. Compared with FilterFreak and Volcano 3, it adds a modular algorithm designer with distortion, comb and bit-crusher stages, but it is slower to dial in. Unlike FilterShaper XL or WOW2, its focus is the filter's structure and character rather than drawn rhythmic movement, though its LFOs and step sequencers cover modulation too. Its 9 vintage-inspired models give it a quicker starting point than building from scratch.

Best for: synth-style filtering of loops, synths and drums, and custom filter sound design.
Genres: electronic, acid and bass music, and cinematic sound design.
Look elsewhere if: you want a quick, simple filter; FilterFreak or Volcano 3 are faster to use.
