What it does

MTremoloMB is a multiband tremolo: it splits the signal into up to six bands and gives each its own volume oscillator, so different parts of a sound can pulse at different rates and shapes. MeldaProduction pitches it for anything from electric piano flavour to stereo width and creative sound design.

Up to 6 bands: each band gets its own tremolo with a custom shape.
Ways to split: by frequency (linear-phase or analog crossovers with adjustable slope), level, panorama, mid/side, transients, tonal/noise content, or in parallel.
Oscillators: predefined shapes, custom waveforms drawn in the MeldaProduction Envelope System, a step-sequencer mode, and a harmonic mode that controls harmonic content instead of shape.
Host sync: every oscillator and modulator can lock to the host tempo.
Two interfaces: an Easy screen with macro controls and a full Edit screen.
Modulation: four modulators acting as LFOs, level followers, ADSR envelopes, randomizers or pitch detectors, with sidechain input.
Platform tools: mono to ambisonics channel modes, A to H preset slots with morphing, MIDI learn, dozens of presets and smart randomization.

When to use it

MTremoloMB is the pick when you want tremolo that moves only part of a sound, such as the highs of a pad pulsing while its low end stays steady. Compared with ShaperBox 3, it does one job, amplitude modulation, rather than offering a set of shapers, but it goes deeper on how the signal is split, with up to six bands and splits by level, transients or tonal content as well as frequency. For plain sidechain-style pumping, LFO Tool or Duck 2 get there faster.

Best for: electric piano and guitar tremolo, stereo pulsing, moving pads and rhythmic sound design.
Genres: any style; especially electronic and ambient.
Look elsewhere if: you only need a basic tremolo (MeldaProduction's free MTremolo covers that) or want filter and distortion shaping in the same plugin (ShaperBox 3).

What producers say

There is little user feedback, but what exists is very positive.

KVR users rate it 4 out of 5; the one written review (2010, version 7 on Windows) gave 5 stars, praising the sound, host sync, the six-band control and a resizable GUI, with around 3% CPU for a single band.
Criticisms: that reviewer's only complaint was that you couldn't open several plugin windows at once.
