What it does

MRecorder is a free MeldaProduction utility with one job: to "record the plugin input into a WAV file", saved to a folder you choose. Because it is a plugin, you can drop it anywhere in a chain and capture audio at that point without routing to a new track.

WAV capture: records whatever reaches the plugin's input as a WAV file.
Output folder: you pick where recordings are stored, so captures don't get lost in a project folder.
Any point in the chain: place it after a synth, an effect chain or on a bus to grab exactly that signal.
Channel support: mono, stereo, mid/side, separate left and right, surround up to 8 channels and ambisonics up to 64 channels (7th order).
Audio engine: 64-bit processing with no sample-rate limit, optimised for AVX2 and AVX512 processors.
Interface: the standard MeldaProduction resizable, stylable GPU-accelerated window with HiDPI/Retina support.

MRecorder is free and comes with MeldaProduction's MFreeFXBundle. Updates are free for life.

When to use it

MRecorder is the pick when you just need to capture audio inside a plugin chain, for free. Unlike Insight 2, SPAN or Youlean Loudness Meter 2, it doesn't measure or analyse anything; it simply writes the signal to disk. Compared with your DAW's own bounce or resample function, its advantage is that it can sit anywhere, including after a live instrument or on a bus during a jam, and keep recording as you play. In a DAW with easy resampling it adds little.

Best for: capturing samples from synths and effect chains, recording live improvisations, and resampling in hosts without an easy bounce option.
Genres: any.
Look elsewhere if: you need metering or analysis (Insight 2, SPAN), or your DAW already resamples and bounces in place easily.
