What it does

MDynamics is MeldaProduction's all-in-one dynamics processor, pitched as "the key to every dynamic process". One plugin handles compression, expansion and gating, and you can draw your own transfer curve for unusual or creative shapes.

Modes: compressor, expander, gate, or any combination, plus a custom drawable processing shape.
Thresholds: three thresholds by default, with more possible through custom curves.
Parallel compression: built in, so there is no need for a separate send or dry/wet routing.
Linking and surround: adjustable channel linking and processing for up to 8-channel surround.
Envelope follower: automatic release modes, peak hold, RMS length, look-ahead, custom attack and release shapes and spectral smoothing.
Side-chain filtering: band-pass filtering or a full 6-band EQ on the detector, plus psycho-acoustic pre-filtering.
Two views: an easy mode for quick setups and an edit mode for full control.

When to use it

MDynamics suits engineers who want one deeply adjustable processor instead of a separate compressor, expander and gate. Compared with Pro-C 3, it offers drawable curves, combined compression and gating and a 6-band side-chain EQ, but its interface is busier and slower to learn. It is cleaner and far more configurable than character compressors like The Glue or MJUC, which give you a sound quickly with few controls. Against TDR Kotelnikov, another transparent option, it adds expansion, gating and surround up to 8 channels, at a higher price.

Best for: custom dynamics such as combined compression and gating, creative drawn transfer curves, and surround stems.
Genres: any style; most useful in mixing, post-production and sound design.
Look elsewhere if: you want a quick, characterful bus compressor (The Glue or MJUC), a polished single-purpose compressor (Pro-C 3), or multiband control (MDynamicsMB).
Tip: start in easy mode for quick setups, then switch to edit mode when you want to reshape the transfer curve.
